At St. Joseph, Seniors are an essential part of the Parish Family.
The Senior Life Ministry both ministers to our Seniors and provides ways for Seniors to minister to others.

      About St. Joseph Senior Life Ministry

• Purpose: Promote service to others and provide religious experiences, recreational, educational and cultural opportunities and community involvement.
• Membership: Open to all parishioners 55 years and older. There is NO fee to be a member. The Ministry has a director, Sister Julienne Guy, OSU; and a twelve member board of directors.
• Volunteers Needed! If you would like to help with any of the activities, please contact Sr. Julienne Guy or any of the board members. You do not need to be a senior to help!!

      Programs and Activities

• Bereavement Group: lends support to parishioners on the death of a family member.

• Respite Care / Outreach Group: provides relief to caregivers on a weekly basis.

• Telephone Committee: contacts seniors about events of interest to them; communicates with those in need.

• Transportation: helps meet the occasional needs for trips to the doctor, pharmacy, for groceries, Sunday Mass at 12:15 PM, etc.

• Recreational Opportunities: includes a weekly schedule of dancing, card games, etc.

• Travel: offers several day and overnight trips each year to neighboring attractions.

• Religious Activities: plans and sponsors ceremonies and lectures about the Catholic Faith.

• Informational Gatherings: are lunches and meetings where items of interest are presented.

• Ministry to the Sick: offers visits to shut-ins and nursing homes, spending time in fellowship and distributing Holy Communion.

      Board of Directors

Parishioners 55 years or older are eligible for service on the Board.
Terms are for three years and limited to two consecutive terms.
Any interested senior may attend the monthly board meetings (contact Sr. Julienne Guy for date and time).
