2021 St. Joseph Giving Tree

For more than 15 years, St. Joseph Parish has sponsored the “Giving Tree”

an annual outreach effort to our community where parishioners

purchased gifts for the less fortunate.

Again, this year, due to the pandemic, our Giving Tree must take a different form.

We will not have a tree, tags or a wish list, nor are we asking for unwrapped gifts.

Instead, we are asking for monetary donations, with which we will purchase gift cards for the children who would normally receive our presents.  These gift cards will be restricted and cannot be used to purchase alcohol, tobacco, or lottery products.

Last year, we were able to provide gifts for 250 children,

Our goal this year is to raise $12,500 for children in need.

You can participate in this year’s Giving Tree program by sending a contribution to the Church Office

(or placing it in the Offertory basket at Mass.)  Please mark your envelope “Giving Tree.”

Checks should be made payable to: “St. Joseph Giving Tree Fund.”

Or you can give ONLINE HERE!

Sneaker Sundays
In addition to gifts for needy children in our community, in the past,

our Annual Giving Tree has included tags for men’s and women’s tennis shoes

which Catholic Charities distributes to the homeless in our community.

While we do not have tags this year, we still very much want to support

Catholic Charities and will be having “Sneaker Sundays”

the weekends of December 4 & 5 and 11 & 12.

Tennis Shoes, Athletic Shoes, Sneakers – whatever you call them, we need them!

Please bring your gift of new shoes to the Church on the weekends of

December 4 & 5 and 11 & 12 and leave them in the boxes in the Narthex.

You may also bring your gift of new shoes to the Church Office any time before Monday, December 13.

Sizes most in need:
Men’s: 9 – 10 – 11 – 12
Women’s: 8 – 9 – 10

(Catholic Charities distributes about 3x as many men’s shoes as women’s, so men’s shoes,

in sizes 11 & 12, are the greatest need.)
