Organ Master Class

Cardinal Newman Organ Academy student, Marshall Seezen, was one of six performers in an organ master class conducted by Dr. Janette Fishell of the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University Bloomington. Dr. Fishell is chair of the organ department at Indiana State University. The master class was held at Incarnation Lutheran Church in Columbia on the newly installed Flentrop tracker pipe organ. Four students were high school age. Two others were college + years old. In a debriefing with Marshall, he remarked, “I didn’t know there would be that many people there!” According to Brad Cunningham, Instructor of Organ at Cardinal Newman, “Marshall outdid himself. He performed extraordinarily well. The school was well-represented! I am proud of him.”

Pictured here are the six students with their teachers and Dr. Fishell.
