The History of the Louisville Ursuline Associate Call
The Ursuline Sisters of Louisville, Kentucky, were founded when three sisters from Straubing, Germany, arrived in Louisville in 1858 to offer Catholic education to the German immigrants. The Ursuline Sisters continually adapted to changing times, especially following the Second Vatican Council, where the call went out for renewal of Catholic teachings. this renewal encouraged the sisters to embrace innovative forms of teaching Christian living, and as a result, in 1979, the Ursuline Associate Call was established.
