Altar Servers
Altar Servers are “prayer leaders” and assist both the priest and people with the celebration of Mass. Beginning in grade 4, both boys and girls are invited to join the Ministry of Altar Service. Altar Servers typically serve twice per month, and training is provided. The Altar Server schedule is coordinated with other Ministry schedules (Lectors, EMHCs, Choir…) so that family members serving in different ministries are assigned to the same Mass. Servers who attend St. Joseph School will also serve School Masses. Additional opportunities to serve are found on Holy Days, Special Liturgies, Weddings, and Funerals. ​
