Becoming Catholic - Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)

Know someone interested in joining The Church?

Need a refresher on certain topics or have questions about Church teaching?

Join us for an introduction to Catholicism course! All are welcome to join us in the Ministries and Administration Building each Sunday from 9:15-10:15 AM, starting the Sunday after Labor Day until Holy Week. Be sure to watch the bulletin for upcoming topics that may interest you or someone you know.

This course functions primarily to instruct those seeking to join in full communion with the Catholic Church but is open to any parishioners who would like an opportunity to expand their own knowledge of the faith!

OCIA is the normative process of formation for adults desiring full communion with the Catholic Church. Our Introduction to Catholicism course runs from September through the Easter Vigil and presents the beliefs, practices, and customs of the Catholic faith to the unbaptized, to those baptized outside of the Church, and to practicing Catholics looking for a refresher on various elements of the faith.

One practical way for all Catholics to engage in the new evangelization would be to invite a non-Catholic friend to a session or to participate in the classes themselves, particularly for those topics that come up often in conversation with those outside the Church!
